Memory Access question
Issue
- Our Audit and Corporate Security department would like to know how and who can directly access and modify memory on a Linux
- It is my understanding that processes run as non-root users cannot examine memory (virtual or physical) outside the virtual memory area allocated to it.
- But 'root' (or anyone with UID: 0) can see/modify other memory areas.
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux
