Squid cannot recognise space between the group names of AD Server

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • Squid is configured for NTLM authentication with Windows AD 2003 R2 SP2.
  • There are some groups on AD which contains spaces (Domain Users), while defining an acl in squid the squid is unable to connect to the group whose group name contain space character.

In squid.conf -

external_acl_type  NT_Group %LOGIN /usr/lib/squid/wbinfo_group.pl
acl group2 external NT_Group "Domain Users"   ## This does not work
acl group2 external NT_Group rusers               ## This works.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 5.2 (Tikanga)
  • squid-2.6.STABLE6-5.el5_1.3-x86_64
  • samba-common-3.0.28-0.el5.8-i386
