pcs doesn't support putting Pacemaker Remote nodes into standby mode

Solution In Progress - Updated -

Issue

When using the standby/unstandby/maintenance/unmaintenance command locally on a remote node without specifying the target node (i.e. defaults to local node), the command either fails with an error or does nothing:

[root@virt-131 ~]# pcs cluster standby Error: Could not map name=virt-131.cluster-qe.lab.eng.brq.redhat.com to a UUID [root@virt-131 ~]# pcs status nodes | grep virt-131 Online: virt-131

Environment

RHEL 7.4
pacemaker
