UDEV rules are not changing Oracle disk user permissions at boot

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • When configuring udev rules to change a disk to owner 'oracle', the changes are not getting applied at boot.
  • Manually running udevadm trigger or udevadm control --reload-rules after boot changes the device permissions successfully.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux
    • User 'oracle' is an LDAP user
    • User 'oracle' is an AD user (Windows Active Directory)
  • Oracle Virtual Directory
