After enabling "shortnames" feature in IPA, a properly configured "Group ID override" is not resolved as expected
Issue
In the environment under investigation, there is the need to combine two separate features of IPA: a modified IDview put together with shortnames. This results with SSSD not properly resolving the expected GID
Environment
IPA (ipa-server-4.5.0-21.el7_4.2.2.x86_64) with AD trust
SSSD (sssd-1.15.2-50.el7_4.6.x86_64)
