System lockup when using "cwnd lock" via ip utility on RHEL 6.3

Issue

  • Using cwnd lock via ip utility to set the maximum congestion window on existing routes results in the system locking up.
  • Following messages was observed and system lockup when the route is utilized:
BUG: soft lockup - CPU#1 stuck for 67s! [swapper:0]

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.3
    • kernel-2.6.32-279.9.1.el6
