Why NIC MACs are getting mismtach for all network interfaces resulting in interfaces to remain in down state at server reboot OR even at service network restart ?
Issue
- Interfaces do not come up at server reboot and fails with error.
ethx interface has different MAC then expected, ignoring. - Few of the interfaces comes up with name
renameX. - Removing the file
70-persistent-net.rulesand then rebooting the system will not create this file again.
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.x
