Kie Server is unable to connect to controller (Business Central) when the application server is started with port offset

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • When using port offset configuration -Djboss.socket.binding.port-offset=100, Kie Server cannot connect to Business Central. The logs shows that Business Central still uses port 8080 and not port 8180 (which was configured);

  • When Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Server (EAP) is started with port offset (i.e. 8180) errors associated with Business Central are raised on the logs:

[org.kie.server.services.impl.controller.DefaultRestControllerImpl] (KieServer-ControllerConnect) Exception encountered while syncing with controller at http://localhost:8080/business-central/rest/controller/server/default-kieserver error Connection refused: connect

Environment

  • Red Hat JBoss BPM Suite (BPMS)
    • 6.4.x
  • Red Hat JBoss BRMS
    • 6.4.x
