After a Live Merge fails, LVM information may not clearly indicate which volumes are actually in use

This article is aimed at an audience familiar with the details of volume chain manipulation during a Live Merge (snapshot deletion).

In this case, on a block-based storage domain, the
lvscommand only showed some volumes in the chain to no longer be active or open. -
However, information from other components indicated that these volumes were still in use.
