Problem with alias interface after reboot on Red Hat Enterprise Linux

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • I have a network problem on a server. The server has two IP adresses configured on eth0 as shown below. After a reboot I'm not able to ping IP's outside of my VLAN and therefore I'm also not able to mount NFS shares. As soon as I shutdown the IP 10.1.1.88 everything works fine.
    inet 10.1.1.88/23 brd 10.1.1.255 scope global eth0
inet 10.1.1.89/23 brd 10.1.1.255 scope global secondary eth0:1
