What may cause in being Unable to list overcloud heat resources

Issue

  • When trying to list resources of overcloud stack it gives back an error message and does not show the resources.

    $ openstack stack resource list overcloud
ERROR: The server could not comply with the request since it is either malformed or otherwise incorrect.

  • In the heat api logs, following error is observed.

    File "/usr/lib/python2.7/site-packages/heat/engine/resource.py", line 659, in required_by if r.id in self.needed_by]
TypeError: argument of type 'NoneType' is not iterable
