RHV VM pauses when accessing a direct lun configured as Virtio-SCSI with SCSI Pass-Through and Privileged SCSI I/O

Issue

  • After upgrading a host, we boot a virtual machine, it is paused due a storage error.

  • The disk in question is a direct lun configured as Virtio-SCSI with SCSI Pass-Through and Privileged SCSI I/O enabled.

  • The lun was connected via an Emulex FibreChannel HBA.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization (RHEV) 3.6
  • Red Hat Virtualization (RHV) 4.x
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 7.3 hosts
  • Emulex FibreChannel HBA
