snmpd segfaults after upgrade to RHEL 6.4

Issue

  • After upgrading to net-snmp-5.5-44.el6, a segfault from snmpd occurs during an snmpwalk command
Feb 21 16:17:33 server1 kernel: snmpd[1331]: segfault at 0 ip 00007fd806e58d5f sp 00007fff48a7dec8 error 4 in libc-2.12.so[7fd806d26000+18a000]
  • This segfault occurs when using the 'exec' function in snmpd.conf. An example:
    exec test /usr/sbin/test.sh

  • If a command or script is being run without any arguments provided, snmpd will segfault.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.4
  • net-snmp-5.5-44.el6
