Broken pipe error when proxying long file upload request through httpd proxy

Issue

  • When sending a long file upload request (several minutes) through our httpd proxy to JBoss, we see the request fail due to a 502 and a broken pipe error:
[proxy:error] [pid 26258:tid 140212227208960] (32)Broken pipe: [client 127.0.0.1:50513] AH01084: pass request body failed to 127.0.0.1:8080 (localhost)
