"ProxyAddHeaders Off" does not become effective in Apache httpd 2.4

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • I configured ProxyAddHeaders Off but it does not become effective in Apache httpd 2.4.
  • When I configured ProxyAddHeaders Off outside <Proxy> setting in Apache httpd 2.4, it does not become effective. The X-Forwarded-* headers (X-Forwarded-For, X-Forwarded-Host, X-Forwarded-Server, etc) are still passed to the backend server.
ProxyPass / http://localhost:8080/
ProxyPassReverse / http://localhost:8080/
ProxyAddHeaders Off

<Proxy "*">
   Require all granted
   # ...(any other config)...
</Proxy>

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 7.x
