"Promise vTrak Ex10 series" storage and Promise VTrak E630f storage, are those supported on RHEL ?
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
Issue
- Need to check if "Promise vTrak Ex10 series" storage is supported with RHEL ?
- Need to check if "Promise VTrak E630f" storage is supported with RHEL ?
Resolution
Regarding the certification, the devices that are certified are servers. It can be checked at
https://hardware.redhat.com/
The only product from "Promise" that is certified is the device "SuperTrak EX16350"
It would be great if you could please check with the storage vendor if the particular storage is compatible with RHEL. however any FC device when connected through supported HBA model and if it visible correctly in the OS should work. However the multipath configuration needs to be taken from the storage vendor and hence need to be checked with the storage vendor for compatibility with RHEL.
You may also be interested in reading the file
/usr/share/doc/device-mapper-multipath-0.4.9/multipath.conf.defaults
which lists the default multipath configuration for the supported storage devices.
- Promise VTrak E630f storage has not listed Red Hat HCL list and then if the user
uses this storage, please contact to the vendor.
Hardware vendor tested RHEL5.3,5.4,5.5 but it did not tested with RHEL4.
