Why sum of processes RSS usage does not reflect in CGROUP's memory.stat?

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • After moving processes from a control group to the other, I have noticed that memory usage of the control group (/cgroup/memory/root) did not change.
  • Moreover sum of processes RSS in that group does not match RSS field in /cgroup/memory/root/memory.stat.
  • After moving processes between Control Groups, should the stats be updated immediately or is there any other explanation for this behavior?

Environment
