ksh in RHEL does not support RLIMIT_RTPRIO

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • The shell "ksh" is an approved shell here and this means that over the years we have accumulated thousands of scripts.
  • As more applications are being rolled out with rtprio, users are forced to use bash since setting RLIMIT_RTPRIO in ksh is not supported.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5
