gstatus fails on Red Hat Gluster nodes with the message <Unable to associate brick X:Y with a peer in the cluster>

Issue

  • gstatus is failing on some of the RHGS nodes with the below error
Unable to associate brick  `<hostname>:<brick-path>` with a peer in the cluster, possibly due to name lookup failures. If the nodes are not registered (fwd & rev) to dns, add local entries for your cluster nodes in the the /etc/hosts file
