Subscription manager fails, returning "does not match a valid repository ID" error message

Issue

I can not enable a repo using subscription-manager.
Why do I receive the error message: "Error: '' does not match a valid repository ID. Use "subscription-manager repos --list" to see valid repositories."" when trying to enable a repo?
Subscription Manager returns error "does not match a valid repository".

How to resolve the following error?

Error: 'rhel-7-fast-datapath-rpms' does not match a valid repository ID. Use "subscription-manager repos --list" to see valid repositories.
