Subscription manager fails returning "does not match a valid repository ID" error message

Issue

  • I can not enable a repo.
  • Why do I receive the below error message when trying to enable a repo?
    Error: '<example_repo>' does not match a valid repository ID. Use "subscription-manager repos --list" to see valid repositories.
  • Subscription Manager returns error "does not match a valid repository".
  • How to resolve the following error?

    Error: 'rhel-7-x-y-z' does not match a valid repository ID. Use "subscription-manager repos --list" to see valid repositories.
