discover-tempest-config failing with no option username

After execution of command:

discover-tempest-config --deployer-input ~/tempest-deployer-input.conf \
--debug --create identity.uri $OS_AUTH_URL identity.admin_password \
$OS_PASSWORD --network-id _<uuid>_

Error log:

2017-06-12 10:30:53.480 20682 CRITICAL tempest [-] NoOptionError: No option 'username' in section: 'identity'
