IPA/IdM Client Installation Fails with a Duplicate Certificate Error

Issue

After unconfiguring an IPA client, subsequent attempts to run ipa-client-install fail with the following error:

ipa         : ERROR    LDAP Error: Connect error: TLS error -8054:You are attempting to import a cert with the same issuer/serial as an existing cert, but that is not the same cert.
Failed to verify that ipaserver.exmaple.com is an IPA Server.
This may mean that the remote server is not up or is not reachable
due to network or firewall settings.
Installation failed. Rolling back changes.
IPA client is not configured on this system.
