JBoss ON server loses connection to agents and can not reconnect due to lack of allocated memory in the agent

Issue

  • JBoss ON agent loses connection to the JBoss ON server and can not reconnect;
  • JBoss ON agent log file contains:

    ... WARN  [RHQ VM Health Check Thread] (org.rhq.enterprise.agent.VMHealthCheckThread)- {VMHealthCheckThread.mem-low}VM health check thread has detected [VM heap] memory has crossed the threshold [0.9] and is low: memory-usage=[init = 67108864(65536K) used = 123196792(120309K) committed = 136642560(133440K) max = 136642560(133440K)]
    ... WARN  [RHQ VM Health Check Thread] (org.rhq.enterprise.agent.VMHealthCheckThread)- {VMHealthCheckThread.gc}VM health check thread is invoking the garbage collector to see if more memory can be freed
    

Environment

  • Red Hat JBoss Operations Networks (ON) 3.3.8
  • JBoss ON agent is using default memory: -Xms64m and -Xmx128m
