mod_substitute does not work for request proxied to JBoss

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • I have set up mod_substitute to replace some content in text/html output. This works for an html served locally by httpd. But for requests proxied to JBoss, the output is not changed by mod_substitute.

Environment

  • JBoss Enterprise Web Server (JWS)
    • Apache httpd
      • mod_jk
      • mod_proxy
      • mod_cluster
    • Tomcat
  • JBoss Enterprise Application Platform (EAP)
