HPET does not work on a 64 bit server.

Issue

  • HPET does not work on a Dell PowerEdge 2950.This system should be working fine according to hwcert#227917.

  • HPET does not work.

  • Compaq ProLiant DL380 G5 is displaying hpet busy messages

In dmesg the following message is logged (grep -i /var/log/dmesg):
