'cman_tool version -r' fails with "The connection to <node> died unexpectedly" and ricci debug shows "ClientInstance.cpp:144: exception: client hasn't presented certificate" in RHEL 6

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • Receive the following error message when trying to run cman_tool version -r:
[root@nodea /]# cman_tool version -r
The connection to nodea.mgmnt.net died unexpectedly
The connection to nodeb.mgmnt.net died unexpectedly
cman_tool: ccs_sync failed.
If you have distributed the config file yourself, try re-running with -S

if I run ricci in debug mode when this happens, I see:

ClientInstance.cpp:144: exception: client hasn't presented certificate

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server (RHEL) 6 with the High Availability Add-on
  • Following the Diagnostic Steps listed below shows an exception due to client not presenting a certificate
