How to use RHEL 6 cloud image on an IPv6-only DHCP network?

Solution Unverified - Updated -

Issue

  • How to use RHEL 6 cloud image on an IPv6-only DHCP network?
  • We are using the RHEL Guest Image from the Red Hat Customer Portal site and deploying into an IPv6-only guest network. The VM doesn't come up on the network because it doesn't request a DHCP6 address. This cloud image does not use NetworkManager. Logging in and running dhclient -6 by hand does work.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6
  • rhel-guest-image
  • No IPv4
  • IPv6-only network infrastructure
  • Addresses provided via DHCPv6
