Multipath 'user friendly names' not working for storage.

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • Multipath configuration parameter user friendly names not working for storage even after adding "device" section for the Storage in /etc/multipath.conf file. This storage does not have default compiled in multipath configuration like other storage devices in the configuration file /usr/share/doc/device-mapper-multipath-0.4.7/multipath.conf.defaults.
  • Added "device" section for the "PURE FlashArray" storage configuration as per Is there a standard dm-multipath configuration for PURE storage?, but the 'user_friendly_names' parameter doesn't work and multipath -ll shows the WWID for the LUNs.
