How to set nr_requests for specific disk ?

Issue

  • nr_requests does not persist after reboot.
  • How to set nr_requests value to 1024 online ?
  • Used below command to set nr_requests but after reboot it reverts back to previous value 128.
  #  echo 1024 > /sys/block/sdc/queue/nr_requests

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7
