Changing Content View assigned to a host is not immediately visible on the client

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • After a change in the Lifecycle Environment or Content View on Satellite, one would expect it reflects immediately in /etc/yum.repos.d/redhat.repo on the next yum invocation, given full_refresh_on_yum = 1 is set in /etc/rhsm/rhsm.conf However, it is not. A "subscription-manager refresh" or a run of rhsmcertd is needed to have the file updated.
  • Please improve the seamless integration of YUM (plugins) with Satellite to make sure always the latest Content from teh assigned ContentView is used.

Environment

  • Red Hat Satellite 6
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux
