Intel X710 bond_slave stuck in backup state

Issue

  • Upon reboot, bond_slave with Intel X710 ports are stuck in backup state and never transition to active state. Because of this, the bond_slave never transmit any LACP PDU and the bond interface never gets form properly.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server-7
    • i40e Version: 1.5.10-k
    • LACP(802.3ad or mode==4) Bond
