Samba not rotating nmbd log files "log.nmbd", with default samba log rotate configuration.

Issue

• The log file /var/log/log.nmbd never rotates, even if max log size samba configuration parameter set.

• The log files from directory /var/log/samba/ are not being named with .old extension, as per the value set to parameter max log size in samba configuration file /etc/samba/smb.conf . Parameter max log size the specifies the max size the log file should grow to. Samba periodically checks the size and if it is exceeded it will rename the file, adding a .old extension.
