OpenShift docker registry does not support v2 authentication with S3 storage

Issue

  • According to the OpenShift documentation, I can attach S3 storage to the docker registry and set v4auth: false. However, the docker registry appears to only support v4 authentication.

Environment

  • OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) 3.3
  • EMC Elastic Cloud Storage (ECS) 2.2.1
