Unable to import bpmn file generated from Bizagi in business-central for JBoss BPM Suite 6

Solution Verified - Updated -

Environment

  • Red Hat JBoss BPM Suite (BPMS) 6.x
  • Red Hat JBoss BRMS (BRMS) 6.x

Issue

  • Unable to import bpmn file generated from Bizagi in business-central;
  • Process definitions is designed in Bizagi and then exported in bpmn format. However, by trying to import it into business central an error is thrown:
java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Could not find BPMNDI information

Resolution

Red Hat JBoss BxMS uses some XSDs to validate bpmn2 files as described in 'Failed to read schema document' error is thrown when building a BPMN2 process in Business Central for JBoss BxMS 6 and follow BPMN2 spec, although it is not 100% implemented. So this behavior is expected since there may be things in the models generated by the third party tools that either proprietary extensions in their tool or outside the scope of what BxMS have implemented.

There is not a feature to migrate process definitions generated by third party tools to business-central, only the Eclipse Plug-in and business-central designer for process edition are officially supported.
