automount segfaults after failed mount attempt

Issue

• The automount daemon segfaults on RHEL4.6 and 4.7.

• The logs at the time of the problem shows:

automount[17353]: failed to mount /mount-point
automount[12852]: process 12852 got unexpected signal 11!  
kernel: automount[12852]: segfault at 0000000000000000 rip 0000002a95916440 rsp 0000007fbfffd078 error 4

• These segfault messages are typically preceeded by a non-existing mount request:

automount[26881]: failed to mount /mount-point
automount[16781]: process 16781 got unexpected signal 11!  
kernel: automount[16781]: segfault at 0000000000000000 rip 0000002a95916440 rsp 0000007fbfffd078 error 4
