Why, after stopping a SAPInstance cluster resource, are there some SAP related processes still running?

  • Why are some SAP processes like sapstartsrv still running on a cluster node even after the resource has been stopped or moved to another node?
  • Why are there still some SAP processes running after disabling all cluster services on one or all the cluster nodes?

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server with High Availability or Resilient Storage Add running Pacemaker cluster
  • SAPInstance cluster resource
