Why sendmail is not sending emails to the correct smtpserver?
Issue
- The SMTP server has IP address X.X.X.X. While sending an email, connection is getting timed out and it is pointing to a wrong SMTP server with different IP address.
- Following logs are observed in
/var/log/maillog
Jan 14 15:11:45 test postfix/smtp[6103]: 5C23A280067: to=<abc@example.net>, relay=none, delay=2343, delays=2313/0.04/30/0, dsn=4.4.1, status=deferred (connect to example.net[x.x.x.x]:25: Connection timed out)

- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6
