Why importing VMs from VMware is failing with "error: libguestfs error: /usr/bin/supermin5 exited with error"

Issue

  • Importing VMs from VMware to RHV is failing with below error
V2VProcessError: Job u'4231e044-1c93-420b-5140-b12d9df49154' process failed exit-code: 1, stderr: virt-v2v: error: libguestfs error: /usr/bin/supermin5 exited with error
status 1.
  • libguestfs-test-tool is failing with below error
supermin: failed to find a suitable kernel (host_cpu=x86_64).
I looked for kernels in /boot and modules in /lib/modules.
If this is a Xen guest, and you only have Xen domU kernels
installed, try installing a fullvirt kernel (only for
supermin use, you shouldn't boot the Xen guest with it).
libguestfs: error: /usr/bin/supermin5 exited with error status 1, see debug messages above
libguestfs-test-tool: failed to launch appliance
