RHEL7: How to clamp the snd_cwnd

Issue

  • Some commits were added to RHEL7 from the 3.10.0-246.el7 kernel that increased the TCP send congestion window snd_cwnd in huge increments as per: https://access.redhat.com/solutions/2918251.
  • Please be careful with clamping the snd_cwnd. If not tuned correctly this setting can severely impede TCP performance.

  • Red hat Enterprise Linux 7
    • 3.10.0-246.el7 and above
  • TCP
