KnowledgeAgent + ResourceChangeScanner fails to connect back after restarting JBoss BRMS 5.3.1 server

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

Resource change scanner and change notifier starts up after the client application is launched. When the BRMS server (Guvnor) is bounced, we've observed 2 things as following:

  • The resource scanner nullifies the existing knowledge base (from knowledge agent) in the client cache. Is this an expected behavior? Is there a way to retain the knowledge base in the client app cache even when the BRMS server goes down?

  • The scanner or notifier does not connect back automatically after the BRMS server comes back up. The only way to get around this issue would be to restart the scanner & notifier by restarting the client container. How do we make the scanner & notifier reconnect without having to restart the client app?

Environment

  • Red Hat JBoss Business Rules Management System Platform (BRMS)
    • 5.3.1
