My cluster service with files on GFS2 hung while failing over on Red Hat High Availability cluster

Issue

  • When we tried to switch the service to the other node, it went to hung state and failover did not happened:
[root@node2]# clusvcadm -r DATABASEA_Service -m node1
Trying to relocate service:DATABASEA_Service to node1...

<ctrl+c>
[root@node2]# clustat

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 (RHEL6) with the High Availability and Resilient Storage Add Ons.
  • 2 or more nodes in a Red Hat High Availability Cluster
  • GFS2 filesystem operating in the cluster.
    • The script resources for the services managed by rgmanager reside on a GFS2 filesystem.
