Error "fatal: filesystem consistency error" in messages after killing "gfs_tool reclaim" command and remounting my gfs filesystem

Issue

  • After cancelling gfs_tool reclaim <mountpoint> with ctrl+c, I remounted the filesystem and the following messages were printed in /var/log/messages:
    kernel: GFS: fsid=cluster:data.0: fatal: filesystem consistency error 
    kernel: GFS: fsid=cluster:data.0:   RG = 262339 
    kernel: GFS: fsid=cluster:data.0:   function = rgrp_verify 
    kernel: GFS: fsid=cluster:data.0:  file = /builddir/build/BUILD/gfs-kmod-0.1.34/_kmod_build_/src/gfs/rgrp.c, line = 427 
    kernel: GFS: fsid=cluster:data.0:   time = 1269778082 
    kernel: GFS: fsid=cluster:data.0: about to withdraw from the cluster 
    kernel: GFS: fsid=cluster:data.0: telling LM to withdraw 
    

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5
  • Red Hat Cluster Suite
    • GFS shared filesystem.
  • Cancelled gfs_tool reclaim <mountpoint> command prior to remounting filesystem.
