nfsserver resource fails to start reporting "ERROR: Failed to start NFS server: /proc/fs/nfsd/threads" after having configured an invalid nfsd_args value, then updated the configuration to remove it, in a RHEL 7 High Availability cluster

Solution Unverified - Updated -

Issue

  • My nfsserver resource is failing to start, referencing /proc/fs/nfsd/threads
nfsserver(nfs-daemons): ERROR: Failed to start NFS server: /proc/fs/nfsd/threads
  • I configured an nfsd_args value, but then realized it was invalid when the nfsserver wouldn't start. However even after I've updated the configuration to not have that nfsd_args setting, its still failing.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 7 with the High Availability Add-On
  • One or more nfsserver resources managed by the cluster
    • At some point, an nfsserver resource was configured with an nfsd_args value that is no longer needed in the environment
