DHCP daemon will not start after migrating from RHEL5 to RHEL6

Issue

  • When running #service dhcpd start to start the DHCP service the following errors appear.
Dec 19 11:34:11 server01 dhcpd: No subnet declaration for em1 (10.9.20.245).
Dec 19 11:34:11 server01 dhcpd: ** Ignoring requests on em1.  If this is not what
Dec 19 11:34:11 server01 dhcpd:    you want, please write a subnet declaration
Dec 19 11:34:11 server01 dhcpd:    in your dhcpd.conf file for the network segment
Dec 19 11:34:11 server01 dhcpd:    to which interface em1 is attached. **

Dec 19 11:34:11 server01 dhcpd: Not configured to listen on any interfaces!
