Cluster unable to form with error "cannot start dlm lowcomms -107" when openais service is started
Issue
- Cannot add node to existing 2-node Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.4 cluster
- When trying to use conga to add a 3rd node to a cluster, it gives no errors but CMAN will not start.
- Clustering will start fine on the second node but fails upon starting cman on the first node.
- The issue is related to the dlm kernel module not starting correctly. It loads cleanly, but there are no kernel processes to be found in ps.
- Upon starting cman I see the following errors printed:
dlm: no local IP address has been set dlm: cannot start dlm lowcomms -107
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 Advanced Platform (Clustering)
- Openais service is chkconfig'd on to start at boot.
