Starting Apache httpd using netHSM fails in EWS 2.1.1 for the `chil` engine

Issue

After updating to JBoss EWS 2.1.1 or 2.1.2, cannot start Apache httpd when configured to utilize a hardware cryptographic device using configuration SSLCryptoDevice chil.

The following error message is reported by Apache httpd for the directive SSLCryptoDevice chil

Syntax error on line 74 of /jboss-ews-2.1/httpd/conf.d/ssl.conf:
SSLCryptoDevice: Invalid argument; must be one of: 'builtin' (none), 'dynamic' (Dynamic engine loading support)

Environment

  • Red Hat JBoss Web Server (JWS/ EWS) 2.1.1 and 2.1.2 ZIP installation
    • Upgrade from JWS 2.1.0 to 2.1.1/2.1.2
    • httpd 2.2.26 + openssl-1.0.2h
    • chil engine
    • netHSM
