"Rule Compilation error xxx cannot be resolved to a variable" in JBoss BRMS 6

Issue

We are following the guide for the creation of the rule "Hello World" in jboss BRMS according to the indications of the quick started as follows:

  when
    Person(name : firstName, surname : lastName)
  ...

However when trying to clean and create we see these error messages:

Field Reader does not exist for declaration 'surname' in 'surname : lastName' in the rule 'MyRule'

Rule Compilation error surname cannot be resolved to a variable
