Error when restarting network: network.service failed because the control process exited with error code

Issue

• When Restarting the network the following errors are observed. This issue has just occured after upgrading Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.3 from 7.2.

[root@rhel7a network-scripts]# systemctl restart network
Job for network.service failed because the control process exited with error code. See "systemctl status network.service" and "journalctl -xe" for details.

[root@rhel7a network-scripts]# service network restart
Restarting network (via systemctl):  Job for network.service failed because the control process exited with error code. See "systemctl status network.service" and "journalctl -xe" for details.
