[Satellite 6] - Unable to Execute Remote Jobs for user's authenticated through LDAP fails with "ERF42-4343 [Foreman::Exception]: Cannot resolve hosts without a user"

Environment

  • Red Hat Satellite Server v.6.2.4

Issue

  • A user from an LDAP server who is mapped to a user group with administrator privileges can't run remote execution jobs.

  • Remote Execution Jobs fails with below error:

Foreman::Exception
ERF42-4343 [Foreman::Exception]: Cannot resolve hosts without a user

Resolution

  • Bugzilla 1397185 has been filed to fix this issue in future releases of Satellite Server .

Work Around

  • Ensure that Any Location is selected while executing a Remote Execution Job.

  • Ensure Organization and Location is set properly for the LDAP user.
