- How to configure unattended provisioning of a system from Red Hat Satellite 5.x when it has a grub2 password?
- Re-Provisioning of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.x halts and ask for
usename&passwordif grub2 password was configured on the client.
Resolution

Before re-provisioning the system,run the below two commands as a remote command on the client system,this commands will remove password-protect from boot menu. Rebuilding the
/boot/grub2/grub.cfgfile viagrub2-mkconfighas different syntax for BIOS vs UEFI based machines.-
BIOS-based machines:
rm /etc/grub.d/01_users grub2-mkconfig -o /boot/grub2/grub.cfg -
UEFI-based machines:
rm /etc/grub.d/01_users grub2-mkconfig -o /boot/efi/EFI/redhat/grub.cfg

Once these commands are executed successfully on the client,you can go ahead and re-provision the system.
